First day of chemo... complete! Honey did great! No complaints at all, no nausea, no pain, nothing! She met the nurse that will be administering her chemo and following-up on any adverse effects, and she was absolutely wonderful. We knew she would be great when the feature on her lab jacket was not her name or her title, but a bright button with two simple words - CANCER SUCKS! Perfect! I really believe we could not have landed in better hands if we had tried. She did a great job explaining what to expect and when to expect it. She also helped to ease some of the anxiety we were having. She made us all feel like... "ok, we can do this!"
As you all know we are an extremely open family and we don't keep secrets well. Our intentions are to keep everyone updated with everything! So, here is what to expect...
Honey had a great day today and should feel the same tomorrow. Sometime Saturday it will begin to hit. They explained the way she would feel as "satan getting a hold of you" (We say go ahead satan bring it on - God always prevails). She will continue feeling absolutely dreadful until probably sometime on Monday. She will feel better on Tuesday, but will still not feel like herself, and she may not really feel "good" when she goes for chemo next week. However, she should feel greatly improved after her second treatment. They described week 2 as a walk in the park. The good news is that the week of Thanksgiving is an off week, so it should be a good one! Also, expect hair loss within 7 - 14 days.
F.Y.I. Honey wanted to make sure everyone knew the thing hanging from her nose for the last two weeks was not a giant bugger, but was a scab from her NG tube (a.k.a. the snufalufakus tube) in the hospital.

Glad to hear that chemo went well today. Just wanted to let you know that Bonnie made about 15 different bandanas for your hat. Girl, you will be looking cool and in great style for the holidays. I believe some of the bandanas are like Barkley and Kinseys! I will be making Pasta e Fagoli soup for Sat for whomever would want to eat and will have Christy bring it over along with your bandanas.

So glad to hear everything went well! I know you'll be feeling pretty darn poopy this weekend, but I'm hoping to stop by and just give you a little hug. :) Love you all!
